Current Research

The purpose of this survey is to research understanding and attitudes of participants in the Spring 2004 CS Workshop Grounding Student Retention and Recruitment in Computer Science Programs in Sound Research Methodology and Data: A CSU System-wide Workshop about the retention and recruitment of computer science students in the California State University.

This is exploratory research. The underlying hypothesis is that the attitudes of the CSU Computer Science (CS) faculty toward research and involvement in the recruitment and retention of women and minorities in the CSU system is correlated with their attitudes toward teaching research. Our research is designed to reveal any intersection between knowledge of and comfort with research and teaching research methods, and attitudes toward recruitment and retention. Participants will respond to an anonymous Likert survey in an on-line environment.
